So I thought id get things going in this section by creating a discussion about one of my favourite things at the moment the media's interpretation about dystopian realities. More prominently 1984, which I recently saw the play off and I must say it really got me thinking. George Orwell managed to get quite a lot of things right in his book from pervasive camera's to televisions and some more. Anyway what are your views on dystopian worlds and countries shown in the media, do you enjoy them and do you feel they are becoming increasingly accurate.

1984 was a very interesting piece of work indeed. Have you ever read Animal Farm written by him? It's brilliant, it explains communism through the form of Animals and Orwell makes some ridiculously accurate themes in it as well. Especially the very last chapter. Now, this was written in 1948, when the Soviets were basically at their peak and Stalin was still alive and the paranoia across europe, and to see a novel that talks negative of communism at this period of history was taboo.
You should give it a read Robin. Very interesting, only just over 100 pages.

Why have i went to my library store (almost a 5 mins walk) and he said he DIDN'T HAVE THAT BOOK? Conspiracy! Lies! Communists! Waffles! Okay, now i can get serous: What the moonspeak are you talking about? Here, the media's all about corruption, cancer, and... boring politic stuff. (Like who's lying to who and why is there corruption shown there and there, but nt there, and why they're all ''WORKING TOGETHER'' to find the corrupted (Paranoian politicians.)) So, who's George Orwell? The name does ring a bell, but i don't remember my american (Canada & USA) history (Even 2010 was history, when you ask that teacher i once had.) classes much...

Well Saul, George Orwell was an English novelist who Is considered one of the most influential English writers of the 20th century. Many words we use come straight from him. Such as: Orwellian: an attitude and a policy of control by propaganda, surveillance, misinformation, denial of truth, and manipulation of the past. In Nineteen Eighty-Four Orwell described a totalitarian government that controlled thought by controlling language, making certain ideas literally unthinkable. Newspeak is a simplified and obfuscatory language designed to make independent thought impossible. Doublethink means holding two contradictory beliefs simultaneously. The Thought Police are those who suppress all dissenting opinion. Prolefeed is homogenised, manufactured superficial literature, film and music, used to control and indoctrinate the populace through docility. Big Brother is a supreme dictator who watches everyone. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/George_Orwell
